Surprised to see Young People Fucking here

August 6th, 2011 at 19:22@Valdis: Well, it the was the only one starting with Y that I could think of. And I gave it a 7 out of 10 on imdb, so it’s not such a bad movie in the end :)
August 6th, 2011 at 19:42@Vlad: For me it was quite easy, except for a few letters where I almost couldn’t find a single movie and a few letters where I had some doubts on what to choose. Here’s how I did it: went on my ratings history list on imdb, sorted it alphabetically and then, for each letter, selected the movie with the highest grade. In case more had the same grade, I had to make a decision. It all took around 15 minutes :)

August 6th, 2011 at 19:49I don’t rate movies on imdb :(

August 7th, 2011 at 23:14Honestly I can’t imagine how ‘Gone with the Wind’ wouldn’t make a film fanatic’s list unless they were just unaware somehow which again I can’t imagine. That film is a beauty in everyway from start to finish. Watching the young and naïve Scarlet evolve into a woman in the most hardest of ways, by being forced into it. Her on and off love with the weak and elegant Mr. Wilkes is devastating when her charismatic personality obviously belongs with Rhett Butler who is more on her level. That last line he makes as he leaves her standing there alone in her fancy house with nothing left but her obvious home. Absolute beauty in the way it was written and thrown at the audience in such a way that you do not know whether to cry or smile. I obviously love film and spend a lot of time watching and writing about it on a small but busy little blog dedicated to the multiple aspects of what goes into a film but especially the characters and the actors that make it happen. It was astounding and there are so many movies that I would like to see that are true original classics that echo their ghostly call through the echoes of time. A friend that works at Dish Network with me was talking about Blockbuster and all the changes that are in the works since Dish bought the company. Kiosks, no more late fees or due dates, movies by mail and other stuff like that. I was delighted as I am sure many are, being that some of the older classics are just difficult to obtain. New customers can even get three months free, for me the big plus was having access to all the great films that I thought had passed into legend. I’m excited as this gives me not just an opportunity to bring them back from the past but to write about their beauty keeping that mystic magic in the now.
